About Wandren Park Wandren Park is the kennel name used by Dr. Jim Wanek of Boise, Idaho. It had its origins in 1971 in Winona, MN when I received and trained my first Sheltie, Apparae's Shayne, CD. (We won 4-H Grand Champion in Obedience at the Winona County Fair in 1972 and 1973, so yes, I started young!) Over the years dogs came, and often went, as school and career moves interfered with keeping and/or showing dogs. As many Sheltie breeders and exhibitors will agree, the hallmark of lovers of this breed is patience! I've been a member of the American Shetland Sheepdog Association since 1989. For many years our kennel name was "Mystic" however it was also used by several other dog enthusiasts, so with the move to a home on an acre of land and a new generation of dogs, the name became Wandren Park in 1998. In October 2003 we moved to a new house on a third of an acre that is still roomy, but more manageable to allow time for training and shows! Welcome to the Wandren Park website. The links on the Contents page will introduce you to the dogs we own or co-own, past and present. Please feel free to call (208-322-6221) or use the email link below to contact us. |
